Ace producer leads the Nigerians on this list which also includes actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, the twin brothers of P Square, author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie amongst others. According to the New African Magazine:

Abuja court sentences Lebanese to life imprisonment for terrorism

A Federal High Court in Abuja today sentenced Talal Ahmad Roda (pictured above), one of the three Lebanese men arrested in May 2013 in connection with illegal possessions of weapon, to life imprisonment. Mr Roda was arrested after a large cache of arms was found in a bunker during a raid on his residence. He was found guilty of all 5 counts of illegal possession of weapons and conspiracy.

Two other men, Mustapha Fawaz, the owner Amigo Supermarket in Abuja and Abdallah Tahini, who were also charged with possession of illegal weapons, were set free by the court.

"I've Never Been To Nigeria Because My Parents Were Too Poor To Bring Me Home" - US Rapper, Wale

In a radio chat with Toolz on Beatfm yesterday, Wale said the reason he's never been to Nigeria until now was because his parents, who are both from Ondo state, were so poor they couldn't afford a bring him home.

"I grew up poor. We lived in DC, in the projects. Getting a ticket to Nigeria on $20, 000 income yearly, to my family that wasn't really... you know...like I was a 15 year old with a decent job, I'm not going to save up to go to Nigeria. Edo PDP Rescues Abused Widow, Offer Her N250,000

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Edo State, has condemned the inhuman treatment meted out on a widow by the State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole. The video which has gone viral captured the erstwhile

FG gives ASUU a 1 week ultimatum to call off strike.

During a press briefing in Abuja this morning, the acting Minister of Education, Nyesom Wike told journalist that the Federal Government has given the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) one week ultimatum to call off the ongoing strike.

Or else what? ASUU execs and President Jonathan were supposed to meet this week but the meeting is yet to hold. The ASUU strike began July 1, almost 5 months later, no resolution in sight. Sad!

The FG also said any Academic staff who fails to resume on or before December 4th automatically ceases to be a staff of the institution. Pro-chancellors of the various universities and the National Universities Commissions (NUC) have been directed to ensure compliance of this directive.

The grand re-opening of Club Movida is happening today Friday 29th  and Saturday 30th November. The club which is situated at 18A Idowu Taylor Street by Law School, Victoria Island will host international and celebrity DJs, plus appearances from special guests and beautiful women.

The strictly by invitation event will offer party-goers the opportunity to experience the newly refurbished venue. The new venue design is certified to give clubbers a world class club experience.
Club Movida, known as one of the top clubs on the Island was shut down some months back when Akeem Sodeinde developed some health issues. Following months of recovery, Akeem is finally back in business and ready to celebrate his life and the re opening of his club with old and new friends.

Club Movida is opened for business on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Friday and Saturdays from 10:30pm - dawn.

Asari Dokubo arrested in Benin Republic

 

Lawyer Festus Keyamo released a press statement that his friend and client, ex-militant Asari Dokubo was arrested in Benin Republic today. Read below...

Today, Tuesday, November 26, 2013, my friend and client, Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo-Asari, was arrested in Cotonou, Benin Republic, around the hours of 1:00pm and 2:00pm by the country’s gendarmes (Police Force).

He was picked up around the Lubeleyi roundabout and taken to an unknown destination. We want to emphasise that Alhaji Dokubo-Asari carries on legitimate business and has been living partly in Benin Republic for many years now. In fact, he owns houses, schools and an academy in that country. All these places have been searched as at this evening and nothing incriminating was found.

We think his arrest and detention is a ploy by certain forces in Nigeria in unholy alliance with the Beninoise government to keep him away as 2015 approaches.

We call on the Nigerian government to immediately intervene and ensure that no harm befalls Alhaji Dokubo-Asari and to use all diplomatic means to secure his immediate release and safe return to Nigeria.

Meanwhile, we shall be liaising immediately with our colleagues in that country to enforce his fundamental rights.

A 15yr old Nigerian boy shot & stabbed at his home in East London after being mistaken for gang member

A 15 year-old boy named Kieran Obazee was shot and stabbed on Friday Nov. 22 at his east London home by gang members in what police believe may have been a case of mistaken identity, Daily Mail reports. Fortunately, Kieran survived the vicious attack and but is in a serious condition in hospital. 

Five men wearing balaclavas and armed with kives and a gun forced their way into the home in Plaistow just before 3am on Friday.

A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. Detectives believe the attackers were looking for a member of a gang and attacked him by mistake. 

This morning a Scotland Yard spokesperson said: 'The person who may have been involved in a gang was staying at the address and they may have been the target, but the boy who was attacked had no criminal background.'

You know shortly after the breakup with his wife Toni Payne, 9ice reportedly fathered two twin girls from a lady Victoria Godis. He denied this vehemently claiming he knew nothing about it. Last week he suddenly shared photos of his twins, here if you missed it and even opened up to Punch on why he denied them in public before..

I did say I didn’t have twins then because I believe it was personal. If I have N1m, I think it is only my account’s officer that should know how much I have. In fact, he wouldn’t even have the right to check my account unless I ask him to do that. He couldn’t just cull up my account details and start checking how much I have. This is not a car we are talking about, these are human beings.
When they grow up, I will tell them the reason I did that. It was the same way my father gave me his own reasons. I didn’t know him until I was 22. I got to know my mother when I was 18. They gave me their reasons for doing what they did. I asked my father where he was all the time I was growing up and he told me where and how and when he was a part of my life. If my kids grow up to ask me why I did what I did, I would certainly explain to them.  I didn’t say I didn’t have kids just because I wanted to lie, No. I had my reasons. I had my life to live.

Yesterday 21st of November Davido added one year, he decided to give back to society to celebrate his day. The singer who is gearing up for the release of a new single started his day by dropping by Ikeja Government Primary School where he presented the pupils with stationery and electronics to aid learning. Man Hired Robber's to Steal Fathers $383,000.

A 31-year-old man, Kabiru Mohammed, has confessed to hiring a seven-man robbery gang to steal $383,000 (N61, 280, 000) from his father.

The suspect, who works with his father, revealed that he hired notorious robbery kingpin, Abiodun Ogunjobi, aka Godogodo, to steal the money from his father who owns a bureau de change at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.

It was also learnt that the gang robbed Mohammed’s father twice.

Mohammed, who is being detained at the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Ikeja, said, “My father is a bureau de change operator at the airport. I am the one who arranged a seven-man armed robbery gang led by Godogodo to rob my older brother, Ibrahim who was carrying my father’s money amounting to $383,000.
