A judge ruled in Usher's favor Friday in the emergency
hearing called by ex-wife Tameka Foster. Foster had requested the court
appearance following the near drowning of the couple's five year old son
earlier this week. She hoped to regain custody of the couple's two sons five years old Usher Raymond V and four years
old Naviyd Ely Raymond on allegations that Usher was to blame for Usher Raymond
V's near death experience. Foster was denied the motion and the hearing was
dismissed, but not before the estranged couple curiously hugged it out.
In an impromptu interview with HLN following the verdict,
Foster called Usher's hug a "media ploy" and by her lawyer's request
would not share what he whispered in her ear.
"I just want to get back to where my son is,"
Foster said. "I'll be back in court on the 27th. And we'll revisit all of
this. It was only a very small amount of evidence that was allowed because this
was an emergency and we were trying to get something changed immediately. But
for the long term, I'll see on the 27th."
According to TMZ, another battle between the estranged
couple had been brewing over child support payments in the weeks before the
accident. Foster still receives $8000 a month in child support payments that
were allotted before Usher was given full custody of the kids in 2012. Usher
plans to take Foster to court over the sum, which he intends to have lowered.
