"Mom gets everything,” police report shows
To most of the world, Gia Allemand's suicide on Monday, Aug. 12, seemed to come out of nowhere. But new details suggest that the Bachelor alum had been struggling privately for some time and had even fought that day with boyfriend Ryan Anderson, an NBA player for the New Orleans Pelicans.
According to an official incident report obtained by TMZ, the 29-year-old reality star had lunch with Anderson earlier on Aug. 12. She reportedly accused him of cheating on her, and they fought on the ride back to her house. Once there, TMZ notes, she said she still loved him, and he replied: "I don't love you anymore."
Hours later, Anderson returned to Allemand's home and found her hanging from her staircase with a vacuum cleaner cord wrapped around her neck, TMZ reports. Per the site, her mom, Donna Micheletti, told police that she had been on the phone with her daughter when the call went suddenly silent. After repeated attempts to communicate with Allemand, Micheletti contacted Anderson.
Fights between the late model and her basketball player beau were not uncommon. In fact, as Us Weekly reported earlier, the two had been butting heads a lot in recent months. Allemand wanted to get married and have a family, a source told Us, but Anderson, 25, "wasn't ready to commit."
"He started breakup talks," the source said of the athlete. "They were fighting a lot."
Anderson, for his part, said in a statement after his girlfriend's death that she was "the most beautiful person [he] knew inside and out." "She had such an amazing impact on my life and anyone that knew her was blessed," he said. "All I have left is to cherish those memories we made together and help perpetuate the many values, faith, and love that we shared."
