Chris Brown seizure was caused by "Nonstop Negativity"

Chris Brown suffered a seizure early morning Friday (Aug. 9) while in the studio working on new music. Emergency vehicles responded to a 911 call around 1:00 AM at Recording Plant studios in Hollywood. When they arrived Brown refused treatment.

A rep for the "Fine China" singer said that the non-epileptic seizure was caused by "intense fatigue and extreme emotional stress, both due to the continued onslaught of unfounded legal matters and the nonstop negativity."

Earlier in the week, Brown vented about the "nonstop negativity" on Twitter. After announcing he'd be retiring following the release of his upcoming sixth album X, the singer wrote,

"Being famous is amazing when it's for ur music and talent. I'm tired of being famous for a mistake I made when I was 18. I'm cool & over it!"

Brown was presumably alluding to his 2009 assault of his ex-girlfriend Rihanna.

The 24 years old resonated the same thought with another tweet following his seizure, this one a bit more cryptic.

They won't love u until u r a memory...

Non-epileptic seizures, unlike epileptic seizures, are not caused by electrical disruptions in the brain. They are considered to be psychological rather than physical. Treatment for non-epileptic seizures usually involves psychological counseling and sometimes psychiatric medication.
