Life: Your choices, Your
consequences!
“We are free to choose
our paths, but we can't choose the consequences that come with them.”
--Sean Covey
“Good and evil both
increase at compound interest. That is why the little decisions you and I make
every day are of such infinite importance. The smallest good act today is the
capture of a strategic point from which, a few months later, you may be able to
go on to victories you never dreamed of. An apparently trivial indulgence in
lust or anger today is the loss of a ridge or railway line or bridgehead from
which the enemy may launch an attack otherwise impossible.”
--- C.S. Lewis
In life, man is as a player, who has to choose
the levels and stages when playing games, your selection determines the
challenges you are faced with and how well you play on your choice of level and
stage determines always not the desired result but the deserved outcome. The
creator of the universe has given us the free will to make a choice always,
between the good and the evil, but be prepared to dance to rhythm of the music played
by the aftermath of your choice. I tag life as ‘make a choice, await the
consequence like a groom expecting the bride’. Our life is a product of choices
we make; do you see a man who has succeeded in boycotting the consequence of
the choice he made? Tell him/her that soon the consequence will come like a
thief in the middle of the night.
In life, people have lost their life and some
have saved their life because of the choice they made, many have self-destruct
themselves and some have rebuilt the broken walls of their life by making a
choice, people have moved from rags to riches and many have declined from grace
to grass because of the choice they clicked on. Some people have chosen to be
devil incarnate living to destroy other lives and many had also subscribed to
the club of those who chose to impact other people’s life positively and
influencing mankind for good. Here in this world, the choice of some is to
dwell in the darkness and shoot arrows at the people who have chosen their
place of residence in light, this will not stop life from continuing, and this
is because, many also have made a golden choice to live and remain in the abode
of light to seek for the salvation of the ones who chose wrongly, missed their path
and are now in darkness awaiting damnation.
I have been in existence for quite a while
now, on the surface of the Earth and i have made choices that make me have the
spank of life, they are bitter lessons that i have learnt from and wouldn’t
want to experience again, even if it would come in another form. Here and here,
still, i have enjoyed the goodness of some choices i made, and i do promise
myself to have it continued. Life is so unpredictable that not every choice you
make for yourself, will the forces of universe that God has assigned here to
monitor and aid us, stamp for you. Some choices may look sweet to us but the
consequence are bitter thereof, and many times the choice we are about to make
may look unpleasant but the consequence thereof will catapult you to an arena of
great surprises and fulfilment.
We are here for pleasant surprises and don’t
forget also the shocking trauma of life, this is the real picture of life. Do
you know why? This is because good and evil has been presented to man from the
beginning of the creation of the Earth, and we are given freewill along with
it. Man chose to eat the fruit of good and evil, and here we are facing the
consequence of the choice of the earliest man on earth, but we can choose to
live above the consequence of the wrong choice, the first man made, with a
condition, live for only what is good and just only good, to humanity and
refuse to engage in the act of Sodom and Gomorrah manifesting in the world
today. The power to be extremely evil lies in you and the grace to be awesomely
good have its place in you, you have got a choice to kick one out because these
two are masters that can’t dwell together. The first leads to eternal
destruction and damnation, but the latter grants you everlasting peace and joy,
the choice is yours!
I like to also add that in our search for
success and pursuit of happiness, do not get drowned by the craziness and
busyness of the world, live the life you have got now to the fullest because
there is no second chance here, create positive changes in the corner of the
world where you are, instil in mankind goodness while you exist here and let
humanity gain from the grace and love of God upon your life.
I want to call your attention to this again,
that, every choice you make, be it in your career, spiritual, marital,
financial, moral issues and so on, the consequences will find its way into your
house even if the doors are under lock. It is a great thing, if the choice you
made comes with good consequences, then you can celebrate the success, friends
and family would also join in the joyous celebration if need be. The pathetic
phase of it, is when choices you made comes with consequential pain and sorrow,
then you will have to wallow in sadness and who says your family and friends
who not partake in it, it is often said that when a sinner is been punished
even the just may have a share. This is why you have to start making the good
choices even when it might be too demanding and tough, and try making sure it
is in every situation, and know this, that your life is interconnected to many
lives, starting from your siblings to friends and people in the world, your
choice and the consequences may not affect only you but your relatives. I
believe you love yourself and also want to love your neighbours as yourself,
this will help you a long way not to make ill-choices.
I want to believe you are set to do your best
making choices that will not only bring consequential bliss to you but to your
family, friends and the world at large. You are more than blessed to be a
blessing to the world. Stay blessed!
