Life: Your choices, Your consequences!

Life: Your choices, Your consequences!

“We are free to choose our paths, but we can't choose the consequences that come with them.”
 --Sean Covey

“Good and evil both increase at compound interest. That is why the little decisions you and I make every day are of such infinite importance. The smallest good act today is the capture of a strategic point from which, a few months later, you may be able to go on to victories you never dreamed of. An apparently trivial indulgence in lust or anger today is the loss of a ridge or railway line or bridgehead from which the enemy may launch an attack otherwise impossible.”
--- C.S. Lewis

In life, man is as a player, who has to choose the levels and stages when playing games, your selection determines the challenges you are faced with and how well you play on your choice of level and stage determines always not the desired result but the deserved outcome. The creator of the universe has given us the free will to make a choice always, between the good and the evil, but be prepared to dance to rhythm of the music played by the aftermath of your choice. I tag life as ‘make a choice, await the consequence like a groom expecting the bride’. Our life is a product of choices we make; do you see a man who has succeeded in boycotting the consequence of the choice he made? Tell him/her that soon the consequence will come like a thief in the middle of the night.

In life, people have lost their life and some have saved their life because of the choice they made, many have self-destruct themselves and some have rebuilt the broken walls of their life by making a choice, people have moved from rags to riches and many have declined from grace to grass because of the choice they clicked on. Some people have chosen to be devil incarnate living to destroy other lives and many had also subscribed to the club of those who chose to impact other people’s life positively and influencing mankind for good. Here in this world, the choice of some is to dwell in the darkness and shoot arrows at the people who have chosen their place of residence in light, this will not stop life from continuing, and this is because, many also have made a golden choice to live and remain in the abode of light to seek for the salvation of the ones who chose wrongly, missed their path and are now in darkness awaiting damnation.

I have been in existence for quite a while now, on the surface of the Earth and i have made choices that make me have the spank of life, they are bitter lessons that i have learnt from and wouldn’t want to experience again, even if it would come in another form. Here and here, still, i have enjoyed the goodness of some choices i made, and i do promise myself to have it continued. Life is so unpredictable that not every choice you make for yourself, will the forces of universe that God has assigned here to monitor and aid us, stamp for you. Some choices may look sweet to us but the consequence are bitter thereof, and many times the choice we are about to make may look unpleasant but the consequence thereof will catapult you to an arena of great surprises and fulfilment.

Here for a purpose!

Here for a purpose!

“We, human beings are not just anything that has weight and can occupy space from birth to death, but we are here to fulfill a mission, impacting the world (positively) and leaving our footprint on the sand of the Earth.”
--- Ogundipe Clement Shola

"Anyone that ever accomplished anything, did not know how they were going to do it. They only knew they were going to do it."
---Bob Proctor

This time of the year is a time, everyone around the world takes a little break from their daily activities, which is recognized by some people and celebrated by some people as the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Christians confidently believe He is the savior of the world and people who practice other religion seem to see Him as a self-acclaimed Messiah. Looking into the account of Jesus Christ’s life, His birth was predicted many years before He was born, to be conceived of a virgin, to be of the tribe of Judah, King David’s seed, would be born in Bethlehem, would be a prophet, teach with parables, preceded by a messenger [John the Baptist], and enter Jerusalem on a colt never ridden, betrayed for 30 pieces of silver by one of His disciple, denied by one of His strong disciple, accused by false witnesses but He would remain silent before His accusers, He would be spit on, beaten ruthlessly and mocked, His hands and feet would be pierced. All these were predicted hundreds of years before His birth. It is also predicted that men would gamble for His clothing, He would intercede in prayers for His transgressors, would be crowned with thorns, He would be offered gall and water when He suffers thirst, He would cry, ‘My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me!’ (because He had the sin of the whole world on Him), He would be cut off in His prime, none of His bone would be broken, He would be executed with thieves, they would look upon Him whom they had pierced, He would be buried in a rich man’s tomb. He would resurrect from the dead, finally ascend to Heaven and He would send to the world a comforter till His second coming to reign on Earth. The book of Isaiah 9:6 (KJV) confirms this ‘For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace’.

Too much! Too less!

Too much! Too less!

(A Call For Balance)

An excellent man, like precious metal, is in every way invariable; A villain, like the beams of a balance, is always varying, upwards and downwards.
---John Locke

Just as your car runs more smoothly and requires less energy to go faster and farther when the wheels are in perfect alignment, you perform better when your thoughts, feelings, emotions, goals, and values are in balance.
---Brian Tracy

Every time i start to write to you, there is one thing my inner mind quickly tells me, you are the writer but the first reader of this piece, let this speak to you because you are a citizen of the world here and you do not belong to the outer space. There and then i start to examine my life and i can see clearly my challenges in life, which other people too are struggling with, this enables me to have a better connection with you, a straight from mind to mind  relation.

In the short but eventful time I have spent on Earth, I realized the biggest challenge of man is maintaining balance in every parts of their life. The situation has always been one side glowing and the other side(s) stays dull, one part flourishing and the other part(s) is suffering,  and a substantial fraction of our life flows and the other fraction(s) stay stagnant and it tend to die out and stink. We may enjoy glory that comes from the successes of the areas of our life that we give our energy to, but we should not forget the pain that comes from failures we experience from the area of our life that we pay less attention to.

To be financially secured, emotionally buoyant, spiritually conscious, mentally sound, physically healthy, happily married, morally excellent, having a good relationship with family and friends, and many more, is very sweet thing to a man’s heart when all in all possessed. I bet, this is the heart desire of every man, but people lose hope of having it all, after been battered by the forces of life in their pursuit for all-round happiness. The conclusion many jump to, is that, there is no one that can live a perfectly balance life, yet, there are people who have been here, i mean they came, they saw and they conquered, and there are still people who are enjoying this balanced life now, though they might be few of the populations of the world.

Time Up

Time Up !

I know God will not give me anything I can't handle. I just wish HE didn't trust me so much.
---Mother Teresa

Looking back, you realize that a very special person passed briefly through your life, and that person was you. It is not too late to become that person again.
---Robert Brault

All men are sculptors, constantly chipping away the unwanted parts of their lives, trying to create their idea of a masterpiece.
---Eddie Murphy

On a particular night, I was so tired and I needed sleep more than anything in the world. A friend who was with me was curious to know why I was in that form, I told him the details of my day and he shook his head, then he said to me in our local dialect ‘ojo iku lojo isinmi’ which means ‘we rest the day we bid the world good-bye’, I mean when death takes you away from your loved ones and battles of life. This statement hit me hard like I have never heard it before; I didn't have time to think about it as I wish, I just wanted to shut my eyes and forget myself on the couch where I was lying. After sleeping for about three hours, I woke up at 1.20 a.m. and discovered there is an alert on my mind, which reminds me that I have something unattended to. The statement my friend made before I slept was so big in my mind, as if I have never heard it or said it before. Then I rose up, took a glass of water and went back to the couch to sit and began to meditate over the statement, my mind starts to write the movie The beginning and the end of man’, I immediately began to see in my mind a woman who made available the egg in her ovary for millions of sperm to contest to fertilize it. The most determined, fittest and ready for life of all the struggling sperm eventually wins and develops into fetus, the struggle to make it out of the mother’s womb continues, some are aborted and some don’t make it out no matter the level of the mother’s hygiene, and for the survivor of the womb saga, some make it out premature and the rest are matured with different health conditions, the survivors are you and I. After passing through the gateway to life, the first test is to learn how to cry while the welcoming party smiles and laugh, and thereafter you can join them in the laughter and that is when your mission on earth begins because you are here for a purpose.

I have always pondered on the idioms ‘life is not a bed of roses’ but I choose to challenge it that ‘life is a bed of roses with its thorn in place, I ask, is roses without thorns?’ As there are two sides to a coin, so do life; life is ugly and beautiful, life is bitter and sweet, life is rough and smooth, life is thick and thin, life is pain and gain and life is cross and crown, our take on life determines what we get. I believe strongly that life never stop even if you choose to stop, I don’t believe the life of any man ever stays stagnant, it is either you live and live indeed or you die, nothing stay ever the same, there is either a break-down or a build-up. The Sun and the moon never stop to take their place, and the Earth will not stop to rotate because of you, you just have to keep moving and manifest the masterpiece God designed you to be. My heart cries for those for those who choose to stop fighting and lose out in the battle of life; there is no crown for them because they are scared to carry their cross. I am shouting and I hope my scream can quicken your mind to wake up from your slumber and put on back your armor, take up your sword and fight to overcome battles of life, this is your mission, fulfill it!
